David Powell joined Avon in 2013 as Senior Vice President, Business Transformation and Global Supply Chain and serves on the company’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Powell is responsible for leading the company's business transformation efforts, including the cost savings initiative and process simplification. He also leads the end-to-end operations of the Global Supply Chain, including sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and delivery.
Before joining Avon, Mr. Powell was Managing Partner at Midreef Partners, LLC, where he provided advisory support to medtech, turn-around, and private/venture equity firms. Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years with Johnson & Johnson, most recently serving as President of Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Devices Unit in Japan. In that capacity, he was a key leader in Asia-Pacific regional strategy development, building a sustainable and growth-focused organization that exceeded market share targets for key products. From 2004-2008, Mr. Powell served as Johnson & Johnson’s Worldwide President of Advanced Sterilization Products, a role in which he transformed the product pipeline and improved market share, quality, profitability and worldwide sales. He also dramatically improved R&D processes across the U.S., EU, Russia, the Middle East, Japan, China, India, and Brazil, driving sales growth, profitability, corporate re-branding and new product launches.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Powell held a series of brand, operations and strategy leadership positions at companies including Ethicon, HAVI Food Services in Hong Kong, and Urologix.
Mr. Powell received a B.S in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Powell has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board of the American Devices and Diagnostics Manufacturers' Association (Japan) and as a Board Director of the California Healthcare Institute.
